"I started coaching with Football United when it was a Saturday morning kickaround in Blacktown. We had 20 or so kids coming regularly - their families were from all over Africa, particularly from Sudan. I saw straight away how valuable football is as a tool for community building, and I also see Football United as an important way for me to express my Australianness - in welcoming and spending time with people from who have come here from elsewhere to call it home. It's affirming to see such a strong and supportive community come out of the football field."
