Leadership Training

The Young Leaders program is developed by Football United for Football United. It was designed specifically to target Football United coaches and its younger participants. It aims to enhance the leadership qualities in these individuals so that they become more empowered to facilitate positive changes within themselves, Football United and the wider community. This is a tailored programme which has been built around extensive literature research, including significant partner input and active engagement with Football United coaches and participants.

There are six primary aims of the course:

  • First, identify aspiring leaders.
  • Second, give aspiring leaders the opportunity, tools and confidence to lead.
  • Third, provide a forum for young leaders to interact, engage and exchange ideas.
  • Fourth, empower communities with capable leaders.
  • Fifth, provide practical application of leadership skills through activities.
  • and finally, actively engage participants with partner organisations.
